International Conference on Research Methodology for Built Environment and Engineering (ICRMBEE 2017) is to be held on 8th and 9th November 2017 at Best Western Hotel, I-City, Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia. ICRMBEE is the first international conference that will focus on the method adopted in the area of built environment and engineering. Faculty of Architecture, Planning and Surveying, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Shah Alam, Malaysia will organize this conference with the theme, ‘Regenerative Sustainability in Built Environment for Human Liveability’. ICRMBEE 2017 provides an opportunity for interaction and exchange of ideas on the most appropriate ways of building bridges across universities, research institutions, government, industry and experts from around the world.

Research, innovation and improvisation have helped to enhance systems, methods, approaches particularly in construction industry. Research methodology is the most critical aspects which should be chosen appropriately and accordingly. Quantiative and qualitative methods is two different elements of the methodology. Both would influence the outcome of the research. Being the first conference that focused mainly on the methodology of the research, it would help the prospectus researcher to understand, determine and identify the variety of research methodologies available. The organizing committees of ICRMBEE 2017 aims to make the conference grows into a renowned avenue and platform for global intellectual discourse.

It is a great honour and privilege to host the ICRMBEE in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In past years, this growing city has played host to many international cultural, political and sporting events, and is also home to the tallest twin buildings in the world, the Petronas Towers. As one of Kuala Lumpur’s many architectural wonders, these impressive towers serve as an iconic symbol of Malaysia’s innovative developments and contributions to construction in the modern world. Kuala Lumpur also provides an environment where the exchange of ideas and research data is shared between people from all parts of the globe. Please use this opportunity to meet and greet your fellow “constructioneers” from all over the world. Besides attending the conference, we hope you will take the time to visit some of Kuala Lumpur’s many local attractions, like the Istana Negara (National Palace), the Kuala Lumpur Tower, or the pedestrian mall at the Central Market. Please feel free to contact any member of the organizing committee during the conference if you have questions or need assistance.

Finally, on behalf of Universiti Teknologi MARA, we wish you a very pleasant stay in Shah Alam during this conference.
